I had some business to do near Tsukishima, so I decided to eat Monja there for dinner for the first time in a while.
Monja Street was busy at 7:00 pm, probably because the next day was a public holiday.
I hadn’t decided on a restaurant, so I just looked around Monja Street.
There are shops that can still accommodate a few groups, and shops that have more than 10 groups waiting, so it seems to be a busy time.
As I was walking in front of Tomo’s shop, a customer came out, so I decided to go to this shop, thinking I might be able to get in.
There were some character goods displayed at the entrance of the store.
Is it just the store’s preference?
When I entered, it seemed like they were just clearing out the seats, and I was asked to wait in front of the store for a while.
I waited for about 3 or 4 minutes and was seated right away.
It seems like I came in at just the right time,
After that, customers started coming to the store one after another, but the store was full and they couldn’t get in.
The inside of the store felt clean and clean.
Even within Monja Street, which is lined with a variety of shops, it has a newer feel.
There are also some that you don’t often see that use avocado and basil!
Avocado mentaiko cheese monja seems to be popular among women, so I decided to try it this time.
This is the drink menu.
I didn’t feel like I saw Ebisu Beer and Sapporo’s non-alcoholic beers in stores very often, so
I decided to drink it.
The store seemed busy, and I ate some edamame while I waited for the monja to arrive.
It’s a perfect snack for two people to enjoy while waiting.
That’s what I thought, but the Monja came right away.
The staff is very efficient in taking orders and adjusting the heat on the iron plate.
The last time I made monja was 6 or 7 years ago, and I had forgotten how to make it.
As I was slowly making it, checking the instructions, the staff member said,
“Are you okay? If you don’t know how to make it, just ask! I’ll teach you!”
He called out to me kindly.
Perhaps because I felt relieved, I managed to make it.
I managed to complete a Monja that looks like that.
When it was finished, the store clerk from earlier said,
“You did a great job!” he called out to me again.
I was very happy.
When I ate it, it was very delicious.
It felt very healthy, probably because it contained avocado, mentaiko, and cheese.
The sauce-flavored monja had a healthy side to it, and it was a very strange feeling.
Of course, it was very delicious and healthy, so I couldn’t stop eating the monja one after another.
A cold beer is the best.
The non-alcoholic beer was also very drinkable and delicious.
In recent years, every time I drink non-alcoholic beer, it tastes better and I’m amazed at the evolution.
Even if you don’t drink alcohol, you can still enjoy the best match of Monja and beer!
Garlic yakisoba was brought to me.
I was having a hard time making monja, but the store clerk kindly taught me how to make it.
“Just stir-fry all the ingredients and garlic together, and when the noodles start to loosen, pour plenty of sauce over them.”
I was very relieved by the kindness of the staff.
I was stirring it with a spatula while frying, but it might be easier to do it with chopsticks.
Now that the noodles are loosened, it’s time to add the sauce.
When you put the sauce on it, it gives off a very nice aroma as it heats up on the griddle.
The feeling of yakisoba has increased.
I intended to put a lot of it on, but it might be a good idea to put more on it than I thought.
While baking, I thought, “Maybe I should add more sauce,” so I added some extra sauce.
When the sauce was mixed nicely, I sprinkled some green seaweed on the table.
The aroma of fried garlic permeates the noodles, and the rich sauce makes it irresistible.
Of course, it’s also the best companion for beer.
After I had enjoyed the food to the fullest, I paid and was about to leave when I noticed that there were various decorations inside the store.
I took a photo.
There are colored papers for all kinds of people!
The Monja that the character in the upper right corner of the poster is holding has cheese and mentaiko on it that you might recognize.
I found out later that the store seems to be the setting of the work!
When paying the bill, I received a pineapple candy.
It’s nice to have a fresh taste after eating something rich!
