Enjoy the taste of Nihonbashi in Ryogoku: Yabukyu's Edomae Tenseiro

[Ryogoku Lunch] Edomae Tenseiro at Nihonbashi Yabukyu Ryogoku Edo NOREN Branch | A long-established soba noodle shop that’s easy to eat even on a hot day

Looking for lunch in Ryogoku. Looking for something refreshing to eat in the scorching heat.

I had plans for lunch in Ryogoku, and before I knew it, I hadn’t eaten lunch yet.
The day was extremely hot, with a maximum temperature of 34°C, and the sun was strong, so I was feeling a bit exhausted from the heat.

As I was walking along, thinking, “I’d like to avoid heavy things,” I suddenly noticed Ryogoku Edo NOREN. I thought that
soba noodles would be easy to eat , so I decided to go in.

The exterior gives off a sense of Edo culture. Perfect for sightseeing.

The exterior is very elaborate, with a tiled roof, ukiyo-e prints, and a lantern-like sign.
Its appearance gives off a “Japanese-esque” feel at first glance, and is sure to please tourists from overseas.

Another great thing about this restaurant is that they have seasonal menus.

At this time of year, a summer menu is available,
featuring seasonal soba noodles made with summer vegetable tempura and conger eel tempura.

Having a seasonal menu makes you want to come back again and again.

Friendly design for foreign visitors

On the table was a paper with diagrams and English instructions on how to enjoy soba
. While this may seem obvious to Japanese people, it’s a thoughtful touch for visitors from overseas.

I felt that this kind of attention to detail was something you would only find in a tourist destination.

I ordered the Edomae Tenseiro. It was more filling than I expected.

This time I ordered the Edomae Tenseiro .

When the tempura was brought to me, I was surprised by the amount of it.
There were two large pieces of shrimp tempura, as well as myoga ginger, maitake mushrooms, eggplant, and shishito peppers.

The tempura sauce contains something like yuzu peel,
making it refreshing even on a hot summer day.

The interior walls are decorated with large ukiyo-e prints,

Leaving the store, I noticed the impressive sumo ring

When I went outside after eating, I was greeted by a huge sumo ring .
It was more impressive than I had imagined, and I couldn’t help but stop in my tracks.

It’s a spot that can be enjoyed not only for dining but also as a tourist spot.
