Yakitori Dojo Report Eye-Catcher

Enjoy a drink at a downtown yakitori restaurant! A favorite of locals: Yakitori Dojo in Kiyosumi Shirakawa

This time, I went to Yakitori Dojo, a yakitori izakaya in Kiyosumi Shirakawa.
It’s a warm-hearted restaurant where local regulars gather.

Atmosphere

My first impression of this restaurant was that it had a relaxing atmosphere, typical of an old-fashioned izakaya
. The wooden interior was lit up with orange lights, making me feel like I had traveled back in time to the Showa era.
The staff were very energetic, and the restaurant was full of energy.

There are counter seats, and the refrigerated case in front of you is lined with yakitori toppings!
It’s the perfect place for when you want to have a quiet drink by yourself.

Thoughts on the food

Let me introduce the dishes we ordered right away.

1. Kinpira burdock as an appetizer

Today’s appetizer was kinpira burdock
. It had a nice crunchy texture and just the right amount of sweet and spicy, and it was enough to go with alcohol.

2. Hearty ham cutlet

Next, I ordered a ham cutlet .
The crust was crispy, the ham inside was juicy, and it was more filling than I expected!
It goes perfectly with beer.

3. Exquisite Yakitori

For yakitori , I ordered lettuce, pickled ginger, white liver, and kokoro (heart) . The kokoro (heart)
in particular has a flavor similar to liver, so some people may not like it, but I love it! In addition, the slightly spicy special sauce that comes with the dish really brings out the flavor of the yakitori.

4. Chicken rice for the final dish

The final dish is chicken rice .
Rice seasoned with chicken broth is topped with a soft-boiled egg.
This is also the best after drinking alcohol!

Interior and precautions

The seats at this restaurant are quite close together,
and there is little space to put your luggage, so we recommend bringing as little luggage as possible .

summary

  • A warm and welcoming yakitori restaurant loved by locals
  • Enjoy hearty meals and drinks
  • The seats are narrow, so it’s better to bring less luggage.

It was a wonderful yakitori restaurant where you could enjoy the atmosphere unique to the downtown area!
If you like yakitori, please visit it.
