I’ve been interested in a popular ramen shop called Koukaibou in Monzennakacho for a long time.
I was finally able to go this time.
It’s a popular restaurant, so we recommend that you go with the expectation that you’ll have to wait in line.
Koukaibo opens from 11:00 AM. (Please check the latest information for business hours)
I arrived at the store at 11:15 on a Saturday and there was already a line.
I did a quick count and there were about 35 people in line.
The people in line seemed to be mostly couples and couples.
The line is long and stretches out into the alleyway.
There’s still a long way to go, but the pictures of the shop are soothing.
The store is approaching.
The entrance looks like a terrace.
I came to the front of the line.
The restaurant has a menu, so it’s fun to think about it while you wait!
At the entrance of the shop, which looks like the terrace I mentioned earlier, there are chairs that can seat three people.
After that, as written on this sign, you need to line up on the guardrail side where the menu was pasted.
This is the view from near the chair at the entrance of the store.
The store’s panda is written on the flag, which is so cute!
Finally, it was my turn to enter the store.
There is a cute sign at the entrance.
I get a little nervous at ramen shops with long lines, but I was relieved.
When you enter the restaurant, there are about 4 chairs for you to wait before being shown to your seat.
An introduction to Koukaibou Ramen was written in front of me.
The content conveys the store owner’s commitment and thoughts.
Also, the pictures and letters are cute. I was healed.
When you look around the store, you can see panda figurines and decorations everywhere.
By the way, pandas were also drawn on the signboards and menus in the queue.
Is it the store’s favorite?
There are also places like this! So why not look for it and enjoy it?
This time, we were shown to a table seat.
There are two tables in the back, and the rest are counter seats.
A neon carlsberg tube was displayed next to the seat.
When I sat down, I noticed that there was music playing inside the store, reminiscent of a calm coffee shop.
The atmosphere of the restaurant may be more like a coffee shop than a ramen shop.
In the ramen introduction, it was written that they were pursuing ramen that could be eaten every day.
Is the atmosphere of the store a place that makes you want to come every day?
Chashu rice came first.
I think the chashu tasted a little like miso.
With the miso chashu, seaweed, and white rice, you’ll probably eat your chopsticks before the ramen arrives.
I also got the flavored ramen.
The appearance is similar to a rich pork bone type.
When I scooped up the soup and looked at it closely, I noticed that although it was rich, it was a little transparent.
When I tried eating it, I found that it was rich but also light.
It felt like completely opposite genres, rich and light, all rolled into one.
The noodles are very smooth, making them even easier to eat.
“I definitely think I could eat this every day.” “I understand what it means to be like miso soup.”
That’s what I thought when I tried it.
The seasoned eggs are also melty and delicious.
Fried gyoza also came.
The gyoza was also very juicy and delicious.
Ramen, gyoza, and chashu rice are the winners!
