門前仲町とんかつ家庭でランチ

I had lunch at a tonkatsu Katei in Monzennakacho.

Every now and then when I walk around Monzennakacho, I see a signboard that catches my eye, and I’ve been curious about it for a while.

I haven’t been able to go for a long time due to lack of timing, but I finally went this time.

I went there around 11:30 on a weekday, and there were only a few customers and there were still some seats available.

Once inside, the atmosphere feels a bit like a coffee shop.

If you sit at the counter, you can see a little of the kitchen.

It seems to be run by a husband and wife, with the wife mainly in charge of the hall and the husband in charge of the kitchen.

There are many types on the menu, so I was a little confused, but decided to try the standard loin cutlet (average).

When I usually eat tonkatsu, I like to eat a lot of rice, so I order a large serving of rice.

“Have you ever eaten our large serving? It’s quite large, right?” he asked, so I told him that I had never eaten it.

“Then I’ll make it a little larger,” he said, adjusting the amount.

Loin cutlet (average) set meal

It’s definitely a lot of rice.

Normally, the large portion should have been more, but I had a little more and it was just right.

The tonkatsu sauce that came with it had a slightly sour taste and was unique.

As the name of the restaurant suggests, they are probably conscious of the home-cooked taste.

(Katei means Family)

While we were eating, customers started coming in one after another.

By around 12:30, the seats were almost full.

There are about 4 sets of table seats, but some people are seated together.

If there were multiple customers who couldn’t sit together, we would turn back.

As I listened to the voices of the customers, I realized that they were good friends with the couple at the store.

It seemed like the customers knew each other.

It may be familiar to people who live nearby.

As the name of the restaurant suggests, it has a home-like atmosphere.

This is the location of Tonkatsu Katei.
